Problem Statement:
Users are struggling to discover nearby merchants within the app. As a result, small merchants are experiencing lower offer redemption rates and have started to voice their complaints.

Objective:
Increase the discoverability of small merchants to ensure users can easily find and redeem offers with nearby businesses.

Technical constrains

Customizing google map was expensive.

EDIT ELEMENTS STRANGELY

We decide to generate custom markers and export them as png’s, clean original google map to avoid clutter view.

Excessive information per marker

Each market should communicate at glance type of offer and name the of the brand.

Highlight the most attractive offer

We designed different type of marker depending of the offer and a logic to display the max percentage of discount or cashback.

Cognition overload

We had to deal with different level of information, type of offer, brand name, information of offer.

Progressive disclosure

To comply with new regulatory requests we build simplified new features to minimize delay in go-to-market.
